DJing is where I find my flow state and where I can truly bring people together. In my sets I always try to transfer my deep love for the music and my enthusiasm for having a good time together.
I started DJing at the age of 15 when I bought my first turntables. I’d spend countless hours in a flow mode, doing what I always liked: curating music for people. The desire to have company was strong in that time, with trance and tech-trance being my go-to genres, my audience and community in Austria was very little. This is how I met Stefan: a friend, a companion and a music enthusiast just like me. Together we formed The Wash in 2005. From then on we had the joy of presenting our sound to thousands of people, from small clubs like the Ra’mien Bar to clubs like Flex or Planetarium in Vienna, Projekt in Innsbruck, Sakog in Upper Austria and even Creamfields in the Czech Republic.
Over time our musical focus shifted from trance and techno towards progressive. Having the possibility to take a new direction made us innovative and led to big excitement. We both joined Progressive World, a German speaking site, where we wrote countless articles and reviews. Through the years, we gained exposure and developed our own style that was admired by clubbers and party hosts.
After Stefan’s decision to leave our project, it was time for me to move on and discover new territory. This led me to my 12-year residency at HARD ON in Vienna, where I had the opportunity to play monthly open-to close sets. Having the possibility to curate a whole night with different shades of my musical taste is for me the greatest pleasure as a DJ.
My efforts as a producer didn’t go unnoticed. I had the pleasure to play bigger venues, like Grelle Forelle or Pratersauna and do warm up sets for the likes of ARTBAT and Guy J. The real eye-opener and defining moment for me was my first visit to Amsterdam. The scene there has everything I love: community vibes, the mutual deep understanding of partying, the devotion to music. The Manual Music x Mango Alley party at Akhnaton will stay forever in my heart, as well as the release party of Callecat’s SYMBIOTIC album at Club Atelier.
